VFRMAN
SILVER Star
We've had this old 14' Lund as long as I can remember as a kid. Finally decided to freshen it up a little bit for the kids to mess aorund with at the lake. I originally had a 7.5hp Merc that we beat the snot out of for 10 years at least as a kid. Upgraded to a 1996 15 hp Johnson that's hardly seen any hourse the past 10 years.
Anyway, after googling "14' lund floor" and seeing what other people have done, I decided to add a floor and a casting deck and use some extra seats we have from our bigger boat that don't get used.
First off, I'm no carpenter so this is a redneck as it gets using available materials in my garage at the time. Other than the carpet which I bought for about $14 at Menards. Will probably last about as long as you'd expect $14 carpet to last.
I wanted to remove all of the bench seats and make one big open floor like most on the web did, with 3 pedestal seats, but opted for a quicker version of just the casting deck and a couple seat mounts. Maybe next year for a bigger undertaking.
We had the 50lb MinnKota on the bigger boat but has always been way underpowered in a good wind. On this thing, 50 lbs is a rocket. We can cruise on 12volts.
I'll add some more details later. Just a few pics for now.
Crap, pics are on laptop that puked. Will add them tomorrow.
