what u driving? 60 w/ original 2f? at 76k miles, assuming its the original 2f, that engine should be treated to only the best oil out there. I would go with the book specified 10w40 as far as viscosity, but choose your brand according to your liking. There are a few oil threads on this forum with good info. try doing a search to see what you can find out.
 
I've been running Rotella 5-40 in all my Land Cruisers for a couple of years. The F series engines were designed for hard use in harsh conditions so just about any oil will do fine. I passed 250K miles on my FJ40 2F and have been running cheap oil in it for the past 20 years or so.
 
15w-40 with high levels of zddp.
 
I am rebuilding a 2F as we speak and when I inspected my camshaft and lifters, I noticed that the flat tappet lifters were worn and unusable. In addition, my lobes were worn as well. Spoke with my machine shop and he said with todays oil zddp is mandatory with flat tappet lifters, unless you are running diesel oil in your engine.
