Oil/Temp Gauges Not Working...Pretty new to all this. (1 Viewer)

Hey there guys, complete newbie here but trying to learn to work on my new 1972 FJ40. Bought it last summer and it ran great but needed a new carb (which I had replaced recently with a new Weber). Now that the new carb is installed, I'm noticing that that oil pressure gauge is always on "L" and the Temp gauge is always on "H". Curious what I need to do to check/diagnose the problem. I've tried searching some of the older threads about this but it's a bit confusing. Any help is appreciated.

Run the wire to them to ground if they move there ok if not it’s the sensor
