Same thing happened to me last Saturday when changing my filter. Must of put it on too tight last time.
I looked at my new 20004 and noticed a pretty beefy ring of metal around the entire filter right near where it mates to the o-ring.
I took my longest flat edge screwdriver and hammer and carefully banged on that edge to loosen it. Similiar to how people bang off the axle nut when they don't have the 54mm socket.

Fo what it's worth we've owned a 94 since new and I have a 93 now. The picture you have of the oil pressure gauge at idle and incresed RPM looks normal to me. Mine run in the extact same location. According to the owners manual both are within normal limits. However, the factory oil pressure gauge is not really that acccuate.

Also. I noticed that the pics you took show the engine not at full operating temp. My cruiser always shows a higher oil pressure until the engine and oil are to correct temps.

X2 on my 94.
