How much oil does your 80 use? Please specify how many miles are on the engine and engine type (3FE, FZ).

97 LX450 94k and uses 1 quart every 1,200-1,400 miles or so. Has done so since I purchased the truck with 67k 
'97 1FZFE with 144,000. Uses about a quart per 3,000 miles.
97 with 120,000 and consumption is less than 1/4 - 1/2 quart every 3000 miles.
Same thing basically. 1997 FZJ 80, 180000+ miles, I never calibrated the odometer to the 315's. About 1 quart every 3000 miles.
If I remember correctly, the owners manual states the oil level should be checked each time the Cruiser is filled with gas? Playing it safe I guess, not that I check it that often. I also seem to recall that the 1FZ is designed to burn some amount of oil.
I do run Castrol 20W50 and change it every 5000 miles. I used to run Mobil 1 5W30 or 10W30. But for some reasons I've always had the impression my Cruisers run better on Castrol. Plus the 20W50 makes me feel better about running higher than usual RPM's on occasion in the mud.

96 LX450, 112K miles, negligible consumption in 5000 miles - maybe a pint. I do check it often. I have never had to add any oil between changes.

'97 1FZFE with 125K on it. No loss between changes (5K) that I've detected.

95 1FZFE - - 169,000 miles and uses about 1 quart every 3,000 miles. I use M1 synthetic. Not sure if the oil consumption would be differnt with any other type of oil because M1 is all i've ever used.
