All,

It was decided at the Meet and Greet to start the beginnings of the club purchase of a brand new Grillman Grills pig cooker with side burner and deep fryer.

Cost: 2,236.50, 10% off list, as they give a non-profit org. discount

Pics are here:

So, here's the specifics:

1. $100 member buy in if you want unlimited use of the pig cooker, on weekends that the club does not use it (rides). Must be a paid up member. Scheduling it is first come first serve via the website.
2. Club will make up the remaining cost after buy in time is over. There will be a vote from all members to agree on the club funds.
3. Non-buy in members can rent the pig cooker for $25 a weekend, also if they are in good standing. Scheduling priority is 1. Club 2. Buy-in member 3. member. But, once scheduled, a buy-in member cannot bump another member for the weekend.
4. General maintenance is done by the club with club funds. If something happens due to a member's actions, then it's their responsibility. Member refills/exchanges tank when done.
5. Other rules can get added once the ball is rolling.

I'd personally like to get this thing going so that it's available to the club for the Tide Ride and GSMTR if possible.
Let's see if we can get about 10 people to sign up, so it will be a split of cost 45% for buy in members and 55% for the club.

I'll chime in and be the first committed buy in member.

I'm in. And I will donate two mudflaps and stock steelies from a 62. The tires are way too small on that thing. I'm thinking 31" tires.:D

Just to clarify, Grillmangrills is offering a 10% discount to us as a "not for profit" organization. They aren't really "sponsoring" us, so no obligation as far a logos on tshirts or anything of the sort.

Wellers are in for a share.

Any other thoughts to the logistics side of it? mainly where it will be kept? I hate to say it but that would probably be a factor for me. It honestly makes more sense to keep in the Triangle area since a larger portion of members are there. It would just make it hard for me to justify if I had to drive 1-1.5 hours just to get it.

I think it's a great idea and will be a huge benefit to the club for events going forward. Just curious.

I think the HOA would get pissed if I put this on my back patio,

If you know you're going to need it in advance, it shouldn't be hard to get it to you. We have enough events for it to switch hands at least once a month. Even if the club doesn't use it for a ride, we should have enough members to pick it up and transport it closer to you...

It will need some thought and planning if it's being used in Havelock one weekend and needs to get to Charlotte the next though...

As far as a permanent home, it may not actually have one (other than Carter-Finley from August to December!) . It may just float from member to member. This may be a point to consider if your HOA has covenants for this.

So we're up to 6. Need 5 more...

Put me down for a share.

So we're at 8. Need about 3 more... Money is due when we vote about the remaining money to be spent by the club.

You have way too much time on your hands! Also some talent!

It's amazing what can be accomplished in less than 3mins on a Mac and Google :D

I *think* the lead time is a couple weeks. I can confirm if needed.
