I’ve been lucky to have escaped LCDC each year with no major damage. Cruise Moab is a different story.
Your Cruise Moab experience makes me physically nauseous every time I'm reminded of it... and I wasn't even there.

I think the most impressive(?) thing was the Poughkeepsie Gulch year, not only did @laserturbo91 pull the broken shock at lunch on the trail. He completed the rest of the trail through Hurricane Pass and Corkscrew Gulch with no driver rear shock. Just wheeling on a spring like a bad mofo. If memory serves, he couldn’t track down a replacement and ended up getting a stock one in Tucson(!) for the ride back to the east coast.

Legendary status.

Let's be honest. If you have to pull a shock on the trail, might as well enjoy the scenery 😂

We forgot to post a copy of the first newsletter for LCDC X here in the forum. Please let me know if you thought that you were on the email list but did not receive this email.

Edited to add...

We also sent an email with early registration instructions for eligible folks. Please also let me know if you were expecting that email but did not receive it.

I know it’s not common to admit that you are wrong in the internet — but I humbly retract any prior belly aching that I did 😶

Anyways.

Registrations coming in this morning… LCDC10 is officially launched!

In as well, likely with the wife and the boys. Will be leading at least one trail, probably more. Definitely planning to lead some of the gulches and basins this time… I did the alpine loop with @TheGrrrrr and @mcgaskins last summer and we took a side trail to American Basin, which was an unexpected highlight. Not that Black Bear and Imogene aren’t cool, but I’m psyched to do something new.

We’re trying to figure out which trail day would be best suited for the baby. I’m leaning toward leading Poughkeepsie with him since it’s on the shorter side and mostly one way.

I’m also thinking about leading Clear Lake - have you been up there? It’s pretty cool.

In all likelihood, I’ll hit BB, Imogene, and Alpine Loop as pre runs.

Also really like spending some time on Governor Basin. Stony / Buffalo Boy is a fun trip as well.

I’ve not done Govenor Basin (I think it was closed the year we cut Yankee Boy short) or Clear Lake or Stony Pass. All of them interest me, as do a bunch of the Alpine Loop area Gulches (Minnie, Maggie, minnehaha, etc). Whatever I don’t plan for LCDC I may have to pre or post run this year

Clear Lake trail has been closed the last couple times I’ve been to Ouray, and while it’s neither technical nor difficult… MAN is it ever a sight to behold the area you travel on the way. -Gorgeous and different, all the way from the lush valley below—with beaver lodges and more—to the lake high above that sits at final plateau where peak still rises above it. If it’s open? Clear Lake is always worth doing. Thisshot is from some years back on the way:

I always love your photos, man. That definitely inspires me to at least pre-run it if it's open.

Do anyone think Blackbear will be reopen after last year closure. That’s the highlight. Great to follow @linuxgod down the Steps on BBP.
They were definitely still working on the Telluride side as the first snows hit this year. So far it sounds like a relatively normal winter this year so I'm optimistic that it'll be open by time the event rolls around. Have you found a successor to your 200, yet?

I'll be there and happy to lead as usual.

I just passed on my first allocation (holding out for Nori) but if the stars align I'll be in a GX550 on the trail.
