Post a pic of the one that goes with 'em I got a bin full but not sure which ones' go with these.

they are black with the red center but dont remember
is they are the shallow tuna can style or the deeper
tomato sauce can style

Wow, those are purty tires & wheels.

They need the shallow "tuna can" style hubcab on the rear.
Front gets a deep cap that is open on the end to access the lockout.

Butch, as a tire guy do you think there is any concern about using 25 year old tires on a vehicle driven on the highway?
Not busting on you, just wondering...

I think oxygen hurts them almost as much as UV. But for a show queen.....with a little Armorall or Back-to-Black or old-school "Tire Dressing"......Cool:cool:

Them is bitchin':D

I would not be concerned, as these are all free of any weathering or checking, however, I would not use thes on a DD .... once they are worn out, there ain't no more........at least not many.
Before I was into Cruisers I was into early Mustangs, I saw guys pay 1k for 4 matching OEM Goodyears for some of the Mach's and Boss Mustangs...
If we had the concourse style shows these would be in demand, just think how cool it would be to show up at an event with an original 40 sporting these.....

Butch

Cool, I've got a few of these tires & wheels that came from fj60 spare tires. They look OK, other than being filthy.

I've noticed others that were actually on trucks sitting out in a field for 10 years will look much worse; deep cracking, discoloration...

I guess if they look OK & hold air, they are OK.

This was in the early 80's tires only........:D :D
When a new FJ40 was ....around 7K I reckon.

Here's a picture of the correct cap style for an '82 if you have a bunch to choose from. This is for a front with drive plate. The back is the tuna can with the same T pattern.

I think youre whole idea is sweet! Pick the wheels for your restoration and work your way inward... :)

they don't make tires like they used to, but i'm not sure if that's good or bad ;)

'root just blew a tire that was over 40 years old on his merc. fortunately, no damage to the ride.
