Good day!

I have a set of springs removed from 97 LX450

There are color markings on each one. I am assuming this is how you can tell which side they are for... or is it not?

I am wondering if they can be used on a 95 HDJ 81, if they need to be reversed, and if it would be suitable for getting it back to stock performance?? All feedback appreciated.

Can they be used? Sure. They'll fit..

Are they going to work well? Probably not. For a number of reasons:
-Used 25 years springs are probably sagging badly.
-HDJ81 is significantly heavier in front than LX450 (engine is heavier, second battery and possibly electric winch). Factory HDJ81 springs were designed with this extra weight in mind. Lx450 ones were not. So you're going to overload LX450 springs and sag even more.
-Right to left weight distribution of LX450 is different due to lack of second battery (compared to HDJ81). Factory front, left and right springs on LX450 are designed to accommodate this difference. If you put these springs into HDJ81, the truck is not going to be level.

As for color markings, they correlate to spring height/rate. There were literally dozens of different factory springs for 80 series, depending on the market/configuration of the truck.

Thank you!
