OEM Shocks - dealer install (1 Viewer)

Let’s see. Jack, ramps, specific ratchet wrench, pipe wrench, time spent watching videos / reading threads (including one herein that debates the method of cutting holes in rear floor to better access top of rear shocks - right?) and, of course, cost of parts. You guys must consider your own hourly rate to be less than the minimum wage.

To the OP, you really should just decide if you’re in the mood to perform the work as a hobby. If so, you have plenty of great advice herein to follow. If not, the dealer-type quotes are really not excessive.

Just did my shocks today.

Fronts... took more time to get the rig jacked up, stands under, and tires off than it took to replace both sides.

Rears... drivers side was not too bad. Passenger side sucked.

I did all 4 today with OEM replacements. Front took about 10 min each. Rears were absolutely seized and wouldn't budge. Ended up cutting holes in floor and using a breaker bar to shear the shafts. My 1000 impact wouldn't even budge them.

What's the word that comes to mind? Oh yeah RAPE.
