Was thinking about buying a 1998 UZJ100 and cant find any info if installing a factory navigation from a 2002+ model would be possible????
Id appreciate anyone who can shed some light on this??

Don't bother. It would be incredibly expensive and the HVAC controls would be integrated into the nav screen. If you search you will find that on the 03+ (I think particularly 04) that the screen has a higher than acceptable failure rate and is a $5000 part new and has to be replaced because of the integrated HVAC controls.

You can put an aftermarket gps to replace you radio for under $1000. I have a Pioneer AVIC F90-BT in my 80 and love it. You're much better off going with aftermarket.

Go Aftermarket. Pioneer makes a unit with adjustable lighting so can can match the LC factory lighting (green, amber, etc.)

The Toyota factory NAV is OEM through Eclipse. Just buy a Double Din Eclipse head unit with navigation and call it good.

I'm sure it's "possible" but probably cost prohibitive for a rational person. I think the OEM Nav computer is mounted below the pass seat, not integrated into the HU like an aftermarket, plus ou'd need a new AC amplifier and controls and a new OEM (inferior) audio system. Go aftermarket, get better sound, better NAV, updated maps, iPod capability, XM/Sirius capability, Bluetooth capability... Why "upgrade" to 10+ year-old technology? I love my aftermarket unit.

Plus, what could be simpler and faster than three large, easy-to-read knobs for HVAC controls? I'm baffled why Toyota saw fit to go away from the buttons and sliders in the 80 series to the knobs in the early 100's, and then back to a more complicated system w/ nav. Makes no sense at all.
