Sorry if this is DA question. I checked FAQ anf did a search. I am wondering is for the non-USA 80s, diesel only I beleive, with OEM dual battery set up came with a interior switch to change from primary to secondary battery, or any interior switch related to the system.

Prolly show my ignorance of the 24v dual system but I had to ask.

Thanks

Some diesel 80s have an OEM dual battery setup. They are a 12V run, 24V start setup. That means that while running, the two batteries are configured to operate in parallel, and while starting, the two batteries are switched to operate in series.

Being part of an electrical system, the "how it works" is all magic to me.

G'luck, -Steve

The aussie models, which are all 12V, are available with optional dual battery set up.
But I dont recall ever seeing a battery switch.I assumed they were permanently wired with both batteries on all the time.

The HJ61 I had was fitted with a switch which allowed you to choose battery 1 or battery 2 and both at the same time or all off.
It was a big switch in the engine bay, switches like this are always close to batteries.
I guess it a safety feature.

Ive also seen some that are fitted with a padlock so you can lock both batteries in the off position;)

That wasn't OEM, right?

No it was an aftermarket set up and it worked very well.
Its what I want to do for my 75 series.I plan to have a deep cycle battery for my waeco 50 litre fridge and a 770 cca battey for starting.

If all that fails I stilL have a Yamaha 1000w genrator with a battery charger:D

Ok, thanks guys.
