My PO provided a H78 spare and 235 75 R15's on the running gear. I need to drive a short distance, and thought I might get away wiith the slightly larger (3/4") tire on the rear of the truck. Can I do this? BTW, I running an open RE.

I plan on FIVE new tires as soon as I can get other work completed.

untill recently i'v never had a proper sized spare, and it may cause handling woes, and accelerate wear on the diff, but should get you a short distance to help. probably bad for steering if you ran it on the front, but in 2wd wouldn't affect front diff... don't know how much it would maggot the steering

Mike,
On open diffs you will be fine.

open diffs no problem...if you were locked in the rear, I'd install the odd one on the front since the unlocked hubs would eliminate locker issues...could be a PITA if you had a rear flat tho, since you'd change the wrong-size spare to the front and then move the same-size front to replace the flat rear...

confused? lol

short answer - don't sweat it for short-term.

would it affect steering and such?

Fixed the frickin' problem - new set of 31 x 10.50 Goodyear MT/Rs all around!

God, I hate crappy tires.
