Odd noise when turning steering wheel upon start-up (1 Viewer)

Good afternoon everyone,

For awhile now, whenever I start up the cruiser in the morning, I hear a really loud whine like an old belt. Only thing is that it only happens when I turn my steering wheel. It goes away as soon as I let go of the wheel and let it return to normal. Even after 20-30 minutes of driving, this whining sound will continue if I’m making a sharp turn. What could this be?

The strainer screen at the bottom of the reservoir could be blocked by debris. There are threads that show how to go about removing and cleaning it.

Late reply, but finally got a day off to check it out. Flushed the power steering system and replaced it. Fixed the issue and Steers like butter. Thanks!
