Hey Yall!

I've got a 1963 fj40. I've been redoing the front axle seals and have come across some missing parts on my hubs. I looked at SOR.COM and the parts diagrams dont match up... So I contacted them with pictures of my hubs and they have told me they have never seen these ones before. My question is have you seen these before, what are they and any idea where to get parts? Cheers!

Yep those are Husky hubs. Not sure how many sets I have but only one set of knobs to lock and unlock. Those were the weak link which is why they were probably modified. Second generation Husky hubs we're a better design. Old literature shows Husky hubs were offered as a dealer option. Show have Toyota's dealer and retail pricing on them back in the sixties.

Holy s*** you guys are quick!!! I assume parts for these things are going to be next to impossible to find?

Only the knobs are hard to find. Plenty of hubs around minus the knobs. I traded a set of early Warn hubs for a pair with one knob. When there arrived there was no knob. When I asked about the knob the person responded it must have fallen off before he removed them. :bang:

Ah I see! I think I am just going to convert it back to full time 4x4! I assume theres not much of a market for the ones that are on mine based on the current state of them?

Plenty of options for free shelling hubs. Coarse spline axles used until the 76 model with disc brakes.

Just to be clear drive plates do not make it a full time 4WD. Just means the diff, inner axles and front driveshaft are turning all the time. Hubs just reduce drag and wear on these parts.
