This looks like agreat scanner. I just can't find any info on the PC software that comes with it. Like what kind of reports can you get.

Anyone have experiance with this or a similar product by the same company.

Thanks

how about someone how has used scanners at least tell me this is a good choice for $179

Oh, it's good enough, but personally I like the ones put together by people who are enthusiastic and involved with the results of their own innovative work. When I see marketting glitz I see red.

A few that you can look at are:

http://obddiagnostics.com/
http://www.obdscan.net/

It's really all about software and the ability to obtain real time info, seeing each sensor under any condition using laptops while in the vehicle. That's what the professional stuff can do and if you can look past the sometimes less than flashy website designs you can have the same ability for pretty reasonable amounts.

Glorified code readers are flooding the market and with them a person can turn off his warning light and verify the onboard code readouts that most modern systems let you see.

There's tons of information available on the net. Just start looking around with a search engine.

Thanks for the info. Thats why I was trying to figure out what the SW does. The laptop systems do seem more capable, just not as portable. Course, could get the palm version

I ended up buying it on eBay. It was $179 new and I had a 10% off coupon. So it was $160.

After I get it and use it a little, I'll post a review.

Wanted to get something I could use in the search for daughterofromer's 4runner
