Does anybody out there in radio land have/mind posting the error code (OBD code) list for my 91 Prado?? The only lists I have found on mud or elsewhere are only for different models but the same engine(2LTE). I get a code 28 and would dearly love to know what that means. Unless its code 2 and 8 but i have a hard time imagining the turbo pressure sensor and air temp sensor failing at the same time. Thank guys!

Try this. Courtesy of Nick, I believe...

2.4LTE Fault Codes
Thanks my man, unless im getting two different faults then i have a feeling there may be different fault codes for different vehicles. I may be completly wrong but when I use a wire to jump from the TE1 terminal to the E1 terminal i get 2 blinks then a short pause then 8 blinks then a longer pause. I read that as 28, but maybe it is 2 and 8.

@masface I've been meaning to PM you back! Just been too busy this weekend, sorry!

It's been a while since I pulled my codes, but it could be you do have a 2 and an 8 code. One is the boost sensor, which would match the issues you are having. It's mounted against the inside fender on the passenger side of the vehicle. The boost lines from the intake manifold run to it. Just check that it's plugged in and the wires are not damaged at all. And you already checked your boost lines to make sure they are in good shape and did not pop off right?

Can you look at the part number on the boost sensor. I do actually have a spare one that I could potentially send to you to try out. Are you in the US or Canada? Where?

As far as the air temp sensor goes, that is by the air filter box. Plugs into the air intake hose there I think? Just check that it's plugged in ok. You might need to reset the codes also to see if they go away as you change stuff.

Oh man, as always you are my hero! So i am thinking that it is the turbo pressure sensor. I have checked the hoses between the throttle body and the sensor and replaced one and put new hose clamps on. No issues in that system. I had the intake side apart to check the turbo fans and shaft play and that sensor is for sure plugged in. All wires I can get to are in good shape. If you happen to have an extra sensor to send up I would be happy to pay the postage. I live on shuswap lake int the BC interior. Not far at all from you. Thanks again man, you're a savior.

Also the part number is 89420-60030. thats for the turbo pressure sensor.

I'll double check the part number on mine tonight, and will let you know. I did pay about $80 for it a few years ago when I had some engine issues and thought my boost sensor was the issue. I'll ship it to you free just for you to try out. If it fixes your problem and you want to buy it from me, we can figure it out then. If it doesn't fix your problem, just send it back to me. They are a hard thing to find usually. Although there is a place near you called jdmparts.ca . They're in Armstrong and have lots of parts I believe....
