Now that i look closer i think it should be the second set up for mine, and looking at what Matt posted i think his is like the second one also.

"B" is the one mine had.

Not too much to report from the weekend. Got all of the brake lines and hardware run. Will hopefully put some fluid in them today and bleed them down. Went thru the sarb i have sitting here and it actually looked pretty good minus the stuff it was missing on the outside. The inside had been gone thru not too long before i had found it from the looks of it. Looks like i could at least use it to get it running for the time being before i have someone else go thru it, or another one that i might be getting.

Put distilled water in the system yesterday evening and should have known where it was going to leak. I know better than to just put the water pump on and not put some sealent in between the inside seal. And ofcourse last night took the water pump back off and took it apart and put some sealent there and put it back on. Am going to put more water back in it and see how she does today. Keeping fingers crossed. It did not leak anywhere else so i might be lucky. Might go get a coolant pressure tester soon and also check it that way before i try to start this thing, we shall see.

Think i will also put some oil in it and prime the engine this week. Think i will also get the fuel tank cleaned out and ready.

Sorry but no pics.

Whoohoo!

It looks great. I just noticed the suspension that you will be using. I'm thinking about doing the same to my fj40. Pretty you won't have anything to reports.:)

I just put brake fluid in and found all of my lines that i thought were tight but i guess were not tight enough. Got a bit everywhere. One good thing to report though. All of the wheel cylinders i rebuilt did not leak what soever. I now have a semblance of brakes. I got the water back in and so far no leaks. I got half of the oil in so far, only had 4 quarts, got to get the rest shortly, and then i can prime this thing and get the distributer in for good hopefully. I figure once i get it ready to almost run i can start working on the wiring again. I am just going to get the wiring i need to start it run and hooked up first though. Once it is running then i will worry about the rest later.

Got some more done today, again no pics but you can understand why.

I got all the engine oil in and primed the system. As i was doing that i figured out the filter was not tight yet. Opppps.

Got all the water back in and no leaks so far.

Got the valve all set for start up now.

Got fluid in the clutch and bled out the system. Got a clutch now.

Keep it up! Looking forward to some more pics.

Brian

You're gonna wish you'd taken more pictures, Darin.

You know Dave, your probably right.

We have All American week going on this week so i will be spending alot of time on post taking some pics. This will be my first time seeing it as a civilian.

I had to do some welding on the air filter housing and sand blasted it. I am trying to get all the stuff i want to paint black ready so i can shoot all of it at one time. Some of the stuff i am going to shoot black did not start that way but is going that way now.

one of the PO's

Darin, Just found this today and read it all! Awesome job! I am very impressed with everything you have done. As one of the PO's of this rig, I'm sorry I let her go. In my defense, I never did anything to the truck while I owned it. My PO had that pleasure. Sorry about the engine. That is one thing my PO told me, it did run good, so I passed that info along. Based on some of the other things he told me, I probably should have known better. :frown:

As far as you have gone with this, I think it is a good thing you decided to leave no stone unturned.

I will def be following your progress...

Wade, You messed me up man. I was going to wait till it was running and send you some pics. At least you know that it went to a good home. I am not upset with anything you told me at all. I knew you had done nothing with it, but knew someone previous had done some serious stuff to this thing.

I had hoped yours was running by now, is it ? It is looking sweet as heck.

The family still doing good over there ? They want to sell yet ?;) ;)

Also on your behalf, it did start and run. Ran pretty good also. The things i am still finding on this thing kill me though. Like today was messing with the choke cable, cleaned it all up and low and behold it is too short. Someone shorted it for the rochester.

Also now that you are on here you need to do a short write up on your beast.

Ok, need some wiring help here. Trying to put the later model alt in here with the internal voltage regulater. I have a Alt exiter wire and another one ( can not remember what it says right now ), need to know what goes where and do i need another one like a ground or something.

TIA

I know you are running into tons of stuff, that's why I didn't add it to my list of projects. I really appreciate what you have done and will continue. It was just too far down my list. My RamCruiser is getting close to it's first trip out. Maybe 2-3 more work days. I am hoping to get the shift linkage and Wiring:eek: done this weekend. With it 300 miles away, progress is slow. I hope to get it running and then it will be with me whereever I go. Progress and inspiration should be much higher then. I hope to run it all summer and then disasemble everything and paint this winter.

I will start thread pretty soon, I have several progress pictures, but unfortuneatly not as many as you. I really wish I had more.

Keep up the good work...

Wade, I know what you are talking about for wiring, put it off as long as i could, now i am getting into it as that is the main thing i need to do right now. So i started wiring last night. Got a few things done.

Ok, figured something dumb out today.

When in serious doubt, ask the people that made the product for help. That is what i did and they were a big help.

Now i am stoked , going to get some more wiring done now.

pics please. Of anything. Maybe I keep getting spoiled w/all the pics from matt's thread.
