Long time listener, first time caller. I’ve had many Toyota’s over the years and my current family is a FJ60, GX470 and an FJCruiser.

My FJ60 has a long story that I’ll put together another time, but for now I’ll give you the cliff notes.

This thread will act as my FJ60 project (build) thread.

1987 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ60)
350 TBI (inherited rats nest of fun)
700R4 transmission

The Interior is clean, but the factory drivers seat had a pretty bad lean and was ripped. Because of this, I swapped in a pair of gray BMW 3 Series sears using Tora fabrication brackets.

I’ll be adding to this thread as I get this project rolling.

Known issues:
  • Stalls out after it’s been running for a few minutes.
  • Transmission has a small leak.
  • Brake pedal goes to the floor without any pressure. May need a bleed or master cylinder
  • Suspension needs to be replaced.
  • AC seems to work but I don’t believe it’s been converted to R134A.

Well, life matters sometimes more than an fj60 build. Due to some unforeseen health issues this project got delayed but we are back on track!

Currently working on getting this thing to fire back up.

The TBI is a real pain in the ass sometimes. Right now I have no pulse at the injectors.

-TPS is new
-Coolant Temp Sensor is new
-Ignition control module is new
-Throttle body and injectors have been rebuilt
-Fuel pump is new.

Vehicle will start for a few seconds with starting fluid.

Fuel is making it to the TB, removed fuel line to verify.

Injectors will spray with power from 9V.

Power going to injectors when ACC is on, verified with test light. Injector noid will not light up. (This tells me the ECM is not grounding the injectors). But why?

Possibly a bad ECM?
ECM lights power up when Acc is on.
