If u need the chain seperate, the chain type is called a sash chain. Can buy all over the Internet in bulk. Buy a sash chain and some key rings and you can make your own chain. You can chain the radiator cap, gas cap, oil cap, etc. You can have chains hanging all over the place.

Correct. The 16400-49356 is a supersession of 16400-61030. Neither had locations for the chain to hook onto.

Here's a new rad cap on an original 1960s radiator. It appears to be hooked on to the rad.

Note that this very early radiator does not have the 'pierced ear' for attaching chain.

Super easy to modify one of those cap with a sash chain.

I bought one foot of sash chain it at the hardware store today for .78 cents. I'm going to find some small stainless rings, drill my cap and make my own. I'm actually glad I saw this post, I actually like it.

The USA Spec. & made STANT Brand cap Toyota offers Now that MSRP's for $18.26 does not come with a Chain Kit ..........

Bumping this up for correct information.

STANT does not make OEM caps for Toyota radiator applications.

Just replaced my radiator this weekend, I had the older rad cap with chain on before, so I just took the chain off, put it on the new cap, which has a hole in it( came with OEM radiator) and put the other end on the factory clamp for the overflow hose.......just like I had it before. If you don't need OEM chain....ACE hardware should have the chain.

FWIW......the OEM radiators are sooooo nice. I am down to just 2 spares now

If you buy a new radiator, there is no place to hook the chain.
