gents,
i made a bit of a noob error putting a big old dent in my “dust cover” on my front driveshaft while doing my lift. anyway i ran out tonight to eyeball it (thanks @devo !). i also got to take a look at the driveshaft in general.
anyone mind eyeballing this for me?
i have a 3” lift in it now and was finally able to get under the rig recently to grease the zirks and put a little grease on the two @yoke shafts” or whatever i call those two areas.
anyway, there is no caster correction up front. and no vibrations.
is that length on the yoke shaft area OK?
also should i drop the shaft by undoing the four bolts at front or rear and make sure that dust cover has some additional room? or how do i inspect this exactly please?
the yoke where the dent is did not seem to have a lot of movement fore and aft. like about 1mm. not sure if this is an issue or not. the front axle itself has about 1/4” “free rotation”. i don’t think i checked rotation in the rear.
i’m pretty sure i did a good job not overfilling the yokes but i’ve never done it before.
THANKS
