How did you do the electric window conversion @luandacruiser? That is pretty nifty!

I see you are in Asuncion. From looking at FB marketplace there seem to be a lot of interesting Land Cruisers there. I have the intention of drivingMissus White from Vancouver to Florida and then ship to Asuncion myself.

I will try and dig out the kit used for the windows. The previous owner installed those.

Bear in mind that Paraguay, like most countries these days, has regulations regarding the import of older vehicles. The law states that vehicles over 10 years old may not be imported. As I understand it, they will let you import an older vehicle "as a classic" but will tax you heavily on it based on their perceived value of it, rather than the price you paid or your valuation following any works you have done to it. It is possible but is costly and you may have to pay a lawyer to 'fix' things for you to allow the import to happen. If you are only importing temporarily, I think things will be much easier.

Paraguay is full of interesting vehicles. There are not too many 40 or 70 series about but I see loads of 25s, 60s - and 80s in particular. There are also lots of interesting Crowns and Cressidas that were only sold in certain markets, as well as rare Fords, Datsuns, Mitsubishis and Chevrolets etc. Most cars on the second hand market are in poor condition as they are often maintained using non-OEM parts from China. Many are also clocked. However, with patience one can find good ones, including Landcruisers. There are also a few competent garages here which are very cheap by US/European standards. So you can build your own Cruiser if you have the time and patience and find a good chassis and frame.

Colombia and Venezuela probably have even more interesting second-hand Cruisers available for sale, particularly if after a 40. But it would be an adventure buying one there and trying to drive it into Paraguay and re-registering it!
