If my 85 FJ60 has been desmoged, would a non US factory distibutor work on my 2F?

Yes it will work - however it will be a points distributor, which is a downgrade from what you currently would have. What is wrong with yours?
Keep the factory unit - it is superior to a non-usa distributor. Fix the stop pin, have it recurved and/or have the advance units checked or replaced.
If you go to a non-usa dizzy the coil/igniter needs to be changed which is again, another downgrade but you could use the '75-'77 coil/igniter from a 40 as it will improve the lifespan of the points.
