Hey Folks - just got a new (to me) ‘96 FZJ.

Don’t know much about the service history, but noticing two noises:

(1) when I make hard right turns (at speed) there’s a vibrating buzz noise that comes out of the left side. Almost sounds like when you’re on the highway and drive over the rumble strip ridges along the shoulder. Definitely noticeable, but happens only turning right on a curve quickly.

(2) when coasting, I hear a very faint almost “washing machine” noise. Something rotating, because when I’m moving faster it happens faster. Shower it happens slower. Very faint, when foots on gas engine drowns it out. Like a super quiet woofing noise while coasting flat or downhill.

Could anyone posit a guess what they could be? Thanks guys

Wheel bearings are my first guess.

I’d also get a look at driveshafts and make sure they aren’t dry. Probably are. Grease the zirk fittings. Wheel bearings too. Knuckle job may be in your future. Welcome to the fun.
