Hey all! I have been having a hard time figuring out why I have no spark. I double checked wires.
Coil - goes to distributor
Coil + goes to the resistor
Resistor goes to ignition switched 12VDC
Coil resistance from + to - is 1.4 Ohms
My coil, resistor, distributor, wires and plugs are brand new.
Can’t seem to figure this one out. Any advice would be great!

Sorry about that! 1982, FJ45 troopy, 2F motor Middle East market. Pic of distributor with cap and rotor off.
Using OEM coil 90919-02113 and resistor.
Using OEM distributor 19100-61080
OEM plug wires.

What is your points gap set to when the rubbing block is at a high point? Also, check your voltage at the + coil terminal when the points are OPEN, then check again when the points are closed. Did the voltage drop?
 
I’m getting 5.9 VDC with points closed and 5.5 VDC with them open. 10.7 VDC now on the ignition side of the resistor
 
Ok. A little more tinkering and I found I was getting a voltage drop from somewhere. Unplugged my voltage regulator and plugged it back in and now I’m getting 12+ bolts at the resistor again. Set my points to .018 gap and no I can rotate the distributor and get a spark on the points. Only question I have left is this.
If I have TDC on compression stroke, rotor pointing at #4 cylinder should my distributor be rotated to have the points open or shut? Seems like I have to rotate it at quite an angle from the block. See pics

Also, at TDC compression stroke I want to hav the rotor in line with #1 plug wire and points open correct?
 
The points will always be open at whatever sparkplug wire it is pointing at (assuming the distributor housing is rotated close to the correct position).
When the rotor is pointing at the #1 cylinder sparkplug wire on compression stroke with the piston at the top of the cylinder, you are in correct alignment. There will be some moving of the distributor after you get it running to get proper timing (advance).
