there is an icon 3 from the right named "SEARCH".
if you put your cursor on it, a little window will come up.
when this window comes up, you can type in WHATEVER you need to know. most of the time, you can search other threads (threads are posts members write, askin tech questions, or anything else related to cruisers) and get the result(s) you are looking for.
I'm not sure why this isnt being used, but some questions are being asked, I KNOW have been covered before. (backspacing, SOA ques, sliders, headlight upgrades, interior lighting, what kind of lift, 80 vs 60....) Woddy has done a GREAT job, adding sections of IH8MUD, concerning topics that are asked a lot. PLEASE USE THIS!!! asking dumbass questions, or questions that have been covered over n over, is a waste of time for everyone.
just my 2c...sean

Well, I agree that Search is great - and I'm probably guilty of abusing the board for not using it to the fullest extent. However, sometimes there is a discussion ABOUT something, but it's not specific enough the answer a particular question. Other than that defense, I beg forgiveness for not using search often enough.

Then there is also the FAQ at the top of the thread list. ALways worth a look...

PS - Who among you thinks I shpould move this tread to eslewheres... I only need a couple of affirmative votes ;)

'Scuse me while I pour another...

search...what's that? :flipoff2:

Well, when some folks get tired of seeing a lot of the same posts, because just about everything has been discussed at least in some part once upon a time, then they start to scream SEARCH to everybody regardless of that person's personal history with that particular button.

Kinda like bitching about chat until the mods start moving every little thing until people get pissed too many things are getting moved.

If this was February I would think the weather has been getting to people. Maybe it's the Christmas "spirit" causing these threads.

Asking dumbass questions isn't a waste of time for those who need answers or those willing to supply them, just to those who read the thread dispite being angry that it was posted. In fact, it's a good way not to be a dumbass anymore.

yeah, if everybody used the "search" function i wouldn't get my post count up by imparting knowledge on newbies that was imparted on myself by posting useless threads that had already been addressed in the past.... got it? good, now go :flipoff2:

...an excellent opportunity to drag a thread back to the top with your fresh question on the same subject, rather than start a new one....

The responses is what will prompt people to SEARCH. Some questions have received the "search archives" responses and until people are inclined not to give helpful answers and just respond with SEARCH, than that will be the day we can be assured of not repeating similar items. Until that day comes.....read if you have the time and respond as you see fit. BTW...I do search because when I need an answer, all kinds of input is readily available and I'm not waiting for responses. And that's all I have to say about that!
