Hello, I'm a newbie and I have just bought a 64 fj45lv. I am getting ready to restore it and I am trying to glean some information.
1. has anyone used the disc conversion systems out there? Will the rear conversion system work on a the LV's?

2. Is there a leaf spring kit that I can order that will fit an lv?

I would really appreciate any knowledge that you can share with me.

Thank you.

1. You can use the disc brake conversion systems, LV axles are the same as FJ40 axles of the same era. Only difference is the rear axle has a sway bar attached, but that won't affect your disc. swap.

2. You can use an Old Man Emu Dakar lift kit (http://www.man-a-fre.com/pa2/oldmanemufj45suspensionkits.htm) this kit will give you 2-3" of lift. The only other option I know of is getting a custom set made by Alcan Springs (http://www.alcanspring.com/) you can get a stock height suspension from them if that is what you are after. Also on a side note the front springs on the LV are excactly the same as all other 40 series, but the rears are unique the the 43/44/45series

Hope that helps

Thank you Clemson. I am trying to get everything gathered up before the lv even gets here. I hope to have it diss-assembled and at the media blasters by the middle of next week. So, I will need to tear down the engine, transmission and transfer case to replace gaskets. While that's going on I plan on taking care of the suspension. Ya, know its all in the way you execute! lol
