'85 FJ60. My clutch has been soft in the mornings, and for the last few weeks has been gettign worse. A few pumps of the pedal usually solves the pressure problem, but lately, it can go soft again during driving and tonight a couple times I could not switch gears without pumping the pedal. I figured the master or slave to be going out, but there is no fluid loss out of the resevoir at all. Can a cylinder go out without leaking fluid? What other components should I look at?

Thanks for putting up with this question.....I'm trying to save some cash...

Welcome.

Yes they can go bad and not leak. I think that you have it nailed...

I replace both when I do them, as to not have to do the job again in a week or two when the other component fails.

Go Toyota OEM parts, and they will give you years of trouble-free service.

Good luck!
