I live in Greymouth, New Zealand.
gidday from new zealand. Just got a 55 this weekend, and i already think it's a weapon. It's powered with a 2F and only needs a little bit of rust fixing until it is road legal. (not that it's stopped me driving it).

But I do need to fix the tailgate. the electric window works fine (seems rare on this message board :)) but the tailgate handle is broken. so to get the door to open i need to open the window, but when the windows open i cant get to the door opening mechanism. catch 22. I haven't really spent much time trying to fix it yet (far to busy driving it) but i was wondering if anyone has got any ideas for what i should do next.

also, is there anywhere to get a replacement handle from, even if it has to be from the states. cheers

Long long distance away but look into cruiserparts.net or even in the wanted section here on mud. Welcome to the board- I would love to live in New Zealand and have a 55

Oh, and if it isn't too much troube, some piggy porn should be in order, i.e. PICS PLEEESE! :grinpimp:

Welcome to the trough. Those rear hatch handles are weak like you would not believe. Renew or replace and wait to do it again. I suggest having a local fab shop redneck up a better one. i am proud of my Wyoming mod rear handle. One big chunk of rusty toughy. Landcruiser rated. Plenty of New Z guys here. Luck with it.
