Was just talking to my wife about the Christmas tree run and it sounds like she may be in as well. Hopefully Ethan doesn't have a final that falls on that Saturday. Looking forward to finally meeting some of you.

Hi everyone, I'm Ethan's dad. I've been a lurker on mud for several years but never been much of a contributor. Now that Ethan has his own rig and I've moved my focus to converting my old Tundra to a camping setup, I'd like to join you guys as well. I'm a bit introverted (another mechanical engineering guy) and Ethan is pretty good about getting me out of my shell.

By a long shot.for the record, that is the worst it gets...or has gotten.![]()
Shawn, you're not supposed to show the 'worst' picture to prospective new members.
. I would really like to get out this winter. I miss snow wheeling and the 4runner should be set up really well for it. I do recommend the snow runs for new members. I always learn a bunch about different aspects of wheeling. and I'm an old(er) timer...We're good with a little challenge and are no strangers to off-camber shenanigans. We don't go snow wheeling much but get a lot of practice when we drive the 1/4 mile unpaved road to our house in the winter. It's a steep slog, about 150' elevation gain, and we usually get more than 12" a few times a year. Also have lots of practice recovering stuck vehicles - at least a couple of vehicles slide off the road each year. We aren't experienced snow wheelers but we probably have a decent foundation.Shawn, you're not supposed to show the 'worst' picture to prospective new members.
Bummer. Ethan and I have a lot of time off around the holidays, let us know what you have in mind.Looks like we're out for this weekend. With my sister visiting and having to meet with the builder at 10:30 on Saturday, there's just no way to make it. Maybe some folks would be interested in a repeat in a week or two?
I am the one with the son at NMtech. his truck is far from done. I went into the office at work and now have no time to work on it (Project 16). welcome you two! the snow run can be dirt roads or monster chaos. it rarely seems to be the middle. this is 2003.

Yeah, he pretty much got out of it after it got fixed and sold. I'm glad I didn't make that one either. Not sure I would have recovered from it even as a bystander.Man that was an epic recovery. That was 2011 IIRC. The years are blending now. Kit never did psychologically recover from that. Car Crafters rebuilt it IIRC and then Kit left the LC world, right?

Speaking of being retired, how much longer before your better half can retire and you guys can move back here?
