Hi all LC lovers.

I used to have and 4runner 92 auto tranny, that just die and spend 2 years park, I just to love it but the fact that it was auto. and the tranny start making crazy things. I sold it. and buy and Running fj45 81 2f that has and serie 70 tranny (5 speed) Serie 80 seats. Running STRONG!!

Some work to do. Front transmition seals start to leak and fluids are mixing with your hub grease. So the entire front have to be done.

The Tie rod ends and direccional shock are on the mail.

And the Engine mounts have to be change. passenger side is half crack.

Almost any seal is missing in action, no wiper arms, the motor is in my hands. Windows are 40/100 working. No A/C (caribbean weather) Any of the dash instruments work but they look okay, problably no sensors. Almost forgot to mention that the tires just to be mud, now the look more like drag racer tires.

Other Than that it is okay for the condition and price.

What you guys recommend me to work first and what to check for next or commond hiden problems.

This is my first post in here. Any I hope more coming.

By the way cuz the car came to me after 2 months of talking to dad an son about the sale, it came to me 19 Dicember and the color is green like apple green. So It was name after the grinch.

Looks pretty good, very heavy rear tray?

Fix the front bar and remove those rubber bumperettes.

I would do a complete fluid change also.

PS, tyres look like they need replacing.

Thanks!

Nop the rear tray it is the original (Japan) except the floor, now it is this diamond pattern. (future entire body coat at http://www.turhino.com/ )

I knew that something make it look werd that rubber need to go!!

Part of the sale deal was that all the engine gaskets seals and fluid need to be done. and the tranny is 4 months old from factory.

And does tires and rims went out 33 rubs.. they put some 31 on the original white rims, but tires are the same or worse.

Other thing I would like to do soon it is internal hood lights and glove box light to. Im just strat to get into the wire mess and color code.

No person to tell if the reverse lights work.

With the engine off, put it in reverse and turn the keys to 'accessorie'. The reverse lights will light up and you can walk around the back and look by yourself :)

You can also use do this to see at night when hitching a trailer

sweet ... my dream is to own a 45 pick-up and while I'm dreaming, a no rust 45 ... maybe someday ... Grinch is a good name ... hopefully it isn't a grinch in any other way ... I agree about changing the fluids, as a baseline for the future ... enjoy ...

Nice truck! Would love to have a 45 just like yours...

Nice picture also... let me know if it is OK to post it in the Tumblr blog below...

Sure! Thanks.

nice looking 45!

but I really don't think that bed came from Toyota(Japan)

Well All the fj45 here in Venezuela came with that bet tray. And the serials on mine say that came from japan. Maybe different components to different continents....?

very very common in some markets, many of the beds were made locally, I think it was a parts content issue with the certain countries, X amount had to be produced local and the rest of the rig was Japanese made(imported). You will see different styles in different parts of the world. In your case....your bed was made in Venezuela, but its a very different style than came on a 100% Japanese built 45

is possible that you even have other non Japanese parts, one that's common in Venezuela is the rear diff is sometimes not Toyota, might be a Dana 60(I know latter LC's used these)

this would be the OEM Japanese style long bed. The US, AUS(but they tossed most), most of the EU, Middle East, etc got this from 1964-85(slight changes made over the years)

In Latin America most countries have their own bed design. South Africa has their own and so on.

front and rear are not dana in my case but yes alot of serie 60 and 70 have dana.

The reason why its bent is because its been over loaded and the early models did not have the reinforced sleeve on the chassis I believe?
Do u refer to the doble picture??? that is a picture i took from a sales web site, to show that all the bet trays in here look like that.
Here in Venezuela that truck is common used to hard work in remote places till today.

Bienvenidos a 'Mud.
