Hello to all at IH8MUD, from Coastal Georgia! Let me take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Daniel, my friends call me DB or BoneDragger. BoneDragger you may ask, well in a previous life I was an archaeologist in the Southwest. My last name is Bontrager and a fellow archaeologist butchered my name and it became BoneDragger.

I currently reside in Coastal Georgia, but my real home is the Southwest, specifically prior to GA I spent 24 years in Durango, CO.

I recently purchased (as in a week ago) a 1997 40th Anniversary 80 series. My first LC since a 1976 FJ60 that I had in the mid 1980s. Prior to that my dad had bought a 1969-60, just prior to my getting my drivers license. At the time he said "it was the closest thing to a Sherman Tank he could find.

Let me tell you a little bit about my new ride. Here are a few pics, I hear tell everyone likes pics!

It has a 3" lift kit, Old Man Emu suspension upgrades, custom built front bumper with a Warn Winch. The wheel flairs were removed and filled when it was painted about 4 years ago. All the carpet was removed and the inside Rhino Lined. All this was done by the previous owner who used it only as his hunting rig (the seat covers aren't really my taste, but the seats are well worn so they work). Yippee for ME.

I have upgraded the stereo, speakers in the front doors and dash, I got to have my music. New speakers for rear doors and the back end will be next, with some type of sub-woofer.

The first thing I want to add is a roof rack, so any thoughts in that are would be appreciated.

I look forward to exploring IH8MUD in the upcoming weeks, months and years.

By the way, my other "adventure" vehicle is a 2003 BMW GSA..................

I like the chin on that bumper!

Welcome to 'Mud!

:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2: (Official now....)

You can call your truck "Jay" for the chin!

In a weird way I really like that bumper! It's different than most, but looks like it was very purpose-built, like to strap a carcass to it, to get out of the back woods!

@slow95z is kinda close to you, I think. He is a good source of parts if you need.

Look up above in the Clubhouses section to hook up with some locals so you can get parts, advice, and help.

Search is your friend.

We're all here to help, heckle, and bag on you whenever possible.

And if you need something, SOMEONE will give you the shirt off their back.

yeah man, hit me up if you need anything. was just in brunswick 6 weeks back going to the beach.

Nice welcome

The Crimson Chin Superhero

But that would mean you'd have to paint it the godawful red.......

Welcome to the forum. Bumper isn't my taste, but the seat cover sure are!

How is the interior Rhino lining holding up?

Alternatively, you could call your truck the RockDragger with that front bumper!

Welcome to Mud, great looking 80!

Thanks all for the welcome and name suggestions.

I might be slow, but I never saw the whole chin thing till you all pointed it out. Now I can't un-see it!

I kinda like the "RockDragger", staying with my long time theme.

Thanks for the welcome.

The Rhino Lining seems to be holding up very well, And I really like the look, and not having carpet!
