Hello, my name is Justin. I just purchased a 1972 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. Im really stoked. I need to do some maintenance on her but im having trouble finding the specifications such as oil capacity, spark gap, spark plug torque, etc. I was wondering if anyone knows of a repair manual to download for free. Or if someone has one. Im looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

Thanks!

Hi Justin,

8 quarts capacity (with new filter). Spark gap, about .035" or so. Haynes makes the best all-around manual, but the factory manuals are really good too. Factory you will need both the chassis and body manual and the F engine manual.

Congratulations and welcome aboard! Don't forget to join the Toyota Land Cruiser Association, http://tlca.org

Oh and spark plug torque is probably around 20 or so foot pounds. I have never used a torque wrench on plugs, just by feel. Don't over tighten or they will be a bugger to remove.
