Okay -- read the FAQ for options on replacing my starter...

Whats the rating on this one (as I am relatively new to the garage...other than parking)?

Something my grandma can handle ? Are there any catastophic mistakes I could accidently make ?

Couple of bolts and wires. No biggie.

I'd say less than There are no shims involved just unbolt the old one and bolt on the new one - cake. Disconnect the battery cables first.

X2 especially on these old 40's there's still plenty of room in the engine compartment. Hardest starter for me was on my FIL's 92 pickup and even that was maybe 1 tops
