Does anyone know where I can get a new driver's side seat belt reciever for an 84 FJ60 preferably brown? I've been searching but not really finding anything.

Have you checked out parting out section- SOR, maybe cruiser parts.

I asked SOR and they didn't know if they had it or not. They said, "Pay us then we'll either ship one soon if we have it or ship one when we get one." That doesn't work for me since I need it soon and will be moving in a few weeks.

I'm still waiting to get an email back from cruiser parts from a few days ago. I'm thinking they must not have one right now.

I haven't checked the parting out section yet though. I will check it out. Thanks.

On ebay, I've seen some Universal ones from carparts.com ... They're gonna be Chinese stuff.

Im looking for blue and SOR had tons of brown ones.. this was about 6 mo. ago.
They were the cable type.

Im looking for the cable type but in blue..

Yup, the cable ones are until 1982 or 83. The plastic-enshrouded fabric ones replaced them.

I have a brown cable version I'd be willing to part with for free, if you pay for the shipping. PM me if you want it. It's brown.

Also, if you don't have an issue with James, Cruiserparts.net has them in the newer style, $25.

can you put those cable ones on the later models or is there something preventing them to fit there, those look like a good alternative to the hard-to-roll-up-need-to-explain-to-passengers-how-to-work-them-even-though-they-are-not-going-to-get-what-I'm-saying-and-make-me-go-back-there-to-buckle-them-in seat belts for the later models.

Relatively sure it takes the same buckle. I can test it when I get home tonight.

 Well put, never heard them described better.

Are you serious?

That's about the most stupid, arrogant remark I've heard in quite a while out of a "business."

I'm pretty sure that's what they said, but maybe I was confused. It was at the end of the business day and all too. I was thinking maybe that's just how they work there.

Thanks Tofudebeest, I sent you a PM.

I haven't ever had any experiences with James, but I hear he's pretty busy. I haven't received an email back from him yet that I sent a few days ago and I'm starting to get anxious to get the 60 legal again since I'll be moving out east in a few weeks so I'm looking for other available options.

With all due respect, this is NOT how they work. Just for the heck of it, I just called and asked for your seatbelt. the answer was: 'Our inventory does not show one in stock. We might have on though in a pile of parts that has not been inventoried. Let me get back to you after we checked.'
Yes, you might have been confused.

Just as a disclaimer, I have nothing to do with SOR. There is no need to bash them for something they did not do.
cheers,
J

I'm going to have to agree with this statement as well. SOR has been really good to me when I call. I've ordered OEM replacement parts from SOR and a few others, but I have never had a vendor (that I've ordered from) that had the same standards for customer service.

All I'm saying is I've dealt with several companies about parts and SOR has been my favorite so far.

Well I guess I was wrong about SOR but I was definitely confused after talking to them the other day. I will admit I have been confused about a lot of things the last couple of days since I forgot to wear a respirator the other day while I was spraying paint on my carport so it probably wasn't their fault.

Yup, there needs to be a training video for these things.

As for SOR, in the couple of times I have ordered from them, they have seemed pretty good in helping me out.
