Wow! that thing looks like it's war proof. I've had an Otter case for my crackberry for a while and I've even tried to kill it and failed, that thing looks military grade. What the hell do you do to your phone to require that?

I'll pass. Why don't you just put your phone in a Abram's and drag that behind you?

Isn't the whole point that it fit comfortably in your pocket?

or you could just buy a lifeproof case and not have a brick in your pocket.
I have had one for six months and its tough. I put it through some paces.
Its better than the otter, I had that one for about a year and I would never switch back.

The lifeproof looks interesting thanks for the link, didn't see it when I was searching for a tough case.
My Aqua Tek should arrive in about 5-6 weeks.

Thought that the Otterbox would the best case for my iPhone but after owning it for 6 months it does not meet my expectations. The rubber case is loose and does not fit tight anymore. The charge cover is loose and does not stay in place. Case is so so but..... given the option I went for the new Aqua Tek..
I work is on various construction sites where we are exposed to rain, snow, dust of various types and all the other fun stuff on sites. Being out in the field all day my phone's battery display is usually in the red zone by early afternoon.
Agree that the new case will be bigger than my Otterbox, but still not as big as my Newton, Motorola, NEC etc that I used before the iPhone came out.
The fact that the Aqua Tek has a build in battery, a solar charger which should allow me to use it all day without always having to recharge. Water proof and dust proof, not having to remove the case to charge is a another big one for me.
I will find out soon enough if it really as tough as advertised, hope it all works out.

I need a new case as well my Otter is starting to get worn out and not work the way I want it too. Interested to see what you think about this case after you get it and use it a bit.

Not happy with my Otter box for my iphone, went looking and this is what I found.
Have ordered one and it's supposed to be shipped for mid July.
Here is the link:
AQUA TEK S for iPhone 4 and 4S
Kickstarter vaporware? Let us know how it works when/if it ever arrives :)

I have the otterbox for my crapberry and it has saved it from numerous drops. The one thing I find is that the screen protector really interferes with smooth touchscreen functionality (so I ripped it off). Interested to know how the touchscreen works with these cases. Also how secure is the belt clip?

July, Aug, Sept, Nov, finally the new case has arrived. :bounce:
What a long wait it has been.
Case is very rugged, solar back for charging should be great feature.
The blue LED's on the front are for the status of the build in battery. Have to push the
lower left button for 4 seconds to check status, otherwise LED's are off.
Will post impressions next week.
See you guys at the Xmas dinner.

You had a Newton! That's hardcore man! I played with one back when it first came out. Amazing that Apple had technology like that back then that could learn handwriting. Closest I got to that was a Palm device. And, I had a TITANIUM case with that one. That case was so strong, you could drive a truck over it...not that I tried.

I like the military case. It looks like ...an expedition Landcruiser.

Be interesting to hear your feedback on that case.

I just went from Blackberry to iPhone and got the lifeproof case. Never having had an iPhone before or used the iPhone without the lifeproof on it I can not comment on difference with or with out. I can say I've been happy with it so far. It would be nice to be able to attach a lanyard though.

I'd. Like some feed back also. The case seems cool. I have just been using my otter box defender case and am in need of a better case.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

One week status.

Case is waterproof. Was outside for the better part of 6 hours on Tuesday lots of calls during the heavy rain.
Tested it in a bucket of water. No issues at all in the wet conditions.
Battery which is build in to the case allows for the iPhone 4s to last for 2.5 days with no topping up.
This is really great news as I am a heavy user.

The bad.
Because case is waterproof the unit is very hard to hear ringing. I use the Old Phone ring tone at max volume.
Also when using the phone with the case, case acts like a echo chamber. When people call they complain that they can hear a nasty echo. :bang:
Because the case is air tight I use the speaker option when people phone, better option to hear the conversation but now I need to yell at the phone in order for the other end to be able to hear me.
This case must be used with a bluetooth headset in order to be able to carry on a conversation.
Otherwise the phone will need to be pulled out of the case, so ear piece is a must.

If the waterproof part is not important then one could drill out the area where the phone's ear speaker area is which might help stop the echo.
That all for now.

excellent thanks . hopefully they wil figure out these issues .

I really enjoy this case. If you don't need the extra power and don't care for playing music from your phone, it's something to look into. Had to shave down the iPod connector for an easy fit (to cheap to buy their custom connector) and future shop has it, no need for shipping fees. Had the otter box as well for a year. It fell apart...

Bought the lifeproof yesterday, will use the snow lizard when traveling or when we are off grid.
Merry Xmas to all !!!
