Any ideas on how to ease up some room up front?
Stock torsion bars may have some extra give, but does anyone have an opinion on the best way to add a little room up front so I don’t bottom out? FUEL Coverts and Yokohama XATs. There’s a MH OME suspension in there now, and mostly this fits the 275/70/18’s.

A good set of bumpstops (Timbren or Wheelers) will prevent harsh bottoming out. But these trucks don’t have much uptravel in the front to begin with, so I wouldn’t worry about cramming the tire into the fender...

what is it hitting exactly? The bodywork?

Are you on AHC or shocks / springs?

thanks for the replies: AHC was out for an OME MH suspension. The front is just shocks and stock torsion bars that have been adjusted previously.

Stock Lx bars or LC bars? You'll bottom out on everything if you have stock Lx bars without AHC

Stock LX470 bars. When I had the AHC taken out they tweaked them - but other than that just straight shocks

current offset is +20, so the tires stick out some. Mashed up against the body some

Lots of discussion hidden in the forum about tire contact esp as people dig into fitting 35s. Essentially if you have contact with something without torsion bars installed, then regardless of the lift (or torsion bar) you have you will eventually contact. A stiffer torsion bar may make it harder to contact and make it less likely, but the travel will remain unchanged and contact will occur

Easy fix: stiffer torsion bars, but you'll still contact it'll just be harder to do and require larger "bumps". Bottoming out will be more difficult

Actual fix: either increase the size of your bumpstops up front, or body lift.

This.

Thanks very much all - still a newbie at the build. Will poke around for options re: new torsion bars and bumper stops.

I think sway away are the cheapest at the moment. But you might be able to find some LC OEM from a take off. If you extend bump stops, you limit the already small travel the front of the 100 has. But it's that or at least a 12mm body lift (which isn't bad either)
