Fire away!

First up is a receiver hitch that bolts into the crossmember bumper...
Toyota PN 51990 and the four bolts, 90148-12003.

Unless I find one in the For Sale thread

First thing should be timing belt/water pump and all of the other sundries. Make sure your rig is mechically sound before listening to Ash too much.

As with all timing belt operated rigs, these things are pretty important for reliability and longevity.

If you need me to take a look, id be happy to do so.

Congrats.

I bet you'll find one.

Borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring!

Go for the sliders! Besides these are noninterference motors right?:flipoff2:

Congrats!

When I bought my '99 3 years ago, it had 90K on it. I replaced the T-belt, idlers, tensioner, water pump, crank seal, cam seals, serpentine belt, fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter. It takes some effort to get all way down to the T-belt so you might as well make all those parts in there new while you're at it. My water pump had been oozing a little and because it is directly above the end of the crankshaft, it caused the T-belt drive pulley to be rusted onto it. That gave me grief for 3-days until enough PB Blaster soaking and a heat gun finally loosened it. Here's a link with some pictures of my struggles with the drive gear: T-Belt

yes, agreed, mechanics first... I'm pretty confident it is in very good condition but i'll take Onur up on his offer.

Awesome looking rig!!
I agree with Onur, get it mechanically right before you go nuts with mods!

Daisy

I'm still waiting to see some mods on your rig...:flipoff2:

First repair/mod

in keeping with the hundy's constant need for repair and up keep, I did my first repair... the velcro closure tab had come off. I glued it back on... as usual, pics don't express the extreme measures taken.

Looks like the next pressing matter is to clean the lint out of the loop side of the velcro...

I mean, why replace a head gasket when you can build a sweet bumper? (Oh, wait, wrong thread).

ZING! oh wait...

lmao you ARE a hundy owner!!! :flipoff2:

So, what is the best wax for a hundy? Does Toyota offer anything? And what about that tire shine stuff? Any recommendations to really make those tires bling?

The next thing on the list is to obsess about what LED kit to use to replace the interior lamps with. After that, you start worrying about how to get the luster back on the fake wood trim kit. (I'm still trying to figure out how to peel mine off withough destroying the plastic underneath).

Honestly though, if you plan to wheel it, get some decent tires first. If you don't plan on being able to afford a lift anytime soon, 285/75-16 fits and works well. And going much bigger than that starts to add complications. They only throw the speedo off by about 5%. And it doesn't take too long to long to get used to the perceived reduction in power you have with the slightly larger tires.

Start poking around the 100-series board. You'll be amused at all the people worrying about stuff like head-lights, painted emblems, powdercoated wheels, LED lamp replacements, etc. But there are a few people there that wheel their rigs and have a wealth of experience and knowledge for upgrading with suspensions, armor and tires.
