Howdy Happy People,
My wife and I just bought her a '91 Land Cruiser to replace her dead Mini Cooper. She wanted something 4x4 for the winter that got her up off the road a bit more than the Mini did. As long time Toyota owners we started looking around for affordable 4x4 Toyotas and found this 80 series for a real good price. My first Toyota was a red '86 Toyota extended cab truck with a manual trans. Loved that thing. We have also owned a '95 4Runner 5 speed, and I currently own a '17 TRD Sport with a 6 speed and factory E locker.
Anyways, we picked this Cruiser up for $3,000, and with our budget of $7,000 we had enough money left over to fix her up a bit. I've already had the badly damaged front window replaced, and ordered a large amount of engine tune up parts. I also ordered all new suspension bushings and an Icon stage one lift kit. Also got some 33" BFG KO2s for the stock wheels. We will also need a new exhaust, as the original one is literally hanging on with hope and tie wire.
Ill probably start a build thread at some point for this project, but for now here are pictures of the day we picked her up, and after I cleaned the truck up a bit. It was very very dirty and had things growing on it. This thing was some ones eastern WA hunting rig. Found some 22 ammo and larger caliber shell casing rolling around in various places. She needs some love but we are super excited to bring this 80 back to life.
