I just picked up a new OEM air filter from the dealer today. I opened the box and went to install it, turned it over and there were directions on the bottom in 4 languages on cleaning. 1) blow the dirt off with compressed air. 2) dunk the filter in soapy water at least 10 times. 3) blow it out again...

Never saw that before!

oh, cool. Thanks MLX...

You think filters for the 60 are the same way?

Cdan might have mentioned this, but I think that's the new version Toyota filter, so beyond a certain date they'll have this sticker and be constructed to be washed and reused. Nice. I have one in also.

No, they are not labeled as washable. The filtering material looks different as well.

May sound like a thoopid question - but which side is down when installing the filter. I placed it in there with the label up and it didn't seem snug - so I flipped it over with the "Toyota Denso" side facing up and the label side down and it fit much more snugly - as if the diameter at either end is different?

Hummmm. I think mine is label up.
