New Muffler Recommendations

Dorman exhaust manifolds... 4.7 will leak between the head and exhaust manifold. It's just a matter of time. I'd start there if I were you... Unlike what I did, which was to buy the best muffler ever, The Flowmaster 40. Unfortunately that exposed another sound which was a massive leak right at the head...

The cats and resonator still help keep it quiet. I spent a very long time considering different magnaflow mufflers etc and settled on the straight pipe. I am 100% satisfied with the decision.

So you are saying the Flowmaster caused the manifold leak to get worse immediately? I bought mine with 260K on it and it has no manifold ticking. Assuming a previous owner already dealt with that.

I have a set of doug thorley headers and an ems exhaust and it sounds amazing. Definitely on the loud side of things but possibly my favorite part of this vehicle

I replaced the center, large muffler with the smaller Magnaflow like others on the previous page. Shed some weight, sound is unchanged from stock. I have the infamous ticking on the manifolds and it's getting much worse. Really want to get those replaced but the labor is insane and I can't do it myself

I had one of these put on my 05' Tundra. I loved the sound! Clean, smooth, and not obnoxious.

I don't know that I'd do the same on my LX, but that's because I have grown to like the quiet, insulated cabin of the Lexus.

If you are looking for a quality muffler that make the 4.7 sound like a tuned sports car, then this is the muffler for you.

I have a suspicion that before I'm done with this vehicle I will have deleted the cats so it's probably best I went with a muffler.

I believe the gaskets came with it, it’s been a little while since I completed it so I can’t recall to be honest.

Borla Cat-Back was easy to install, fit perfect, sounds good, and no drone. Slight V8 grumble, but nothing near annoying at all.
Supposed to be straight thru design as well (better flow)

How good can our 4.7 sound with flowmasters?

Fantastic actually but with the correct one.
I have a 50 Series delta flow with the resonator delete and sounds perfect.
Not my video but got the idea from that guy

That is the exact one I ended up going with and love it. Under 40 with some nice sound and zero drone on the highway. I had the resonator deleted as well.
