No I don't need one but... Why does Toyota only offer a short block? Why can't you get complete block with head?

Toyota does not offer "long blocks" with a VERY few exceptions. The ones that have been are/were [glow=red,2,300]VERY,VERY,VERY, EXPENSIVE[/glow] If a 1FZ was available in long block form, I wouldn't at all be surprised for it to have a price tag in excess of 10 thousand bucks.

Did they make a long block 22R? Did they ever offer reman engines?

Maybe it was trannys but in the 80's I thought Toyota had remaned motor or tranny from Japan for the HiLux???

Many re-man transmissions are available in the US. They are re-manufactured in the US in MI.
