The locker takes some getting used to in the beginning. After you get used to it, as somewhat changing your driving style in corners; you barely notice it, heavier weight gear oil also helps... I installed it myself. Cone Washers are a PITA. It took longer to get the cone washers out then unbolting the driveshaft, third member and draining it.

As for the snorkel I bought some Chinese one that was $90 and shipped from Cali. It is made of ABS plastic, all one piece and it is very thick and sturdy, I guess I got a later model because I didn't have any antenna clearance issues. I smacked it a couple times on big trees with no problems. Only thing is trust the template for the big hole only. None of the holes for the studs lined up. I ended up making my own template using the studs on the snorkel and wet paint.

Yeah, lockers are great. Still remember crawling over spots that I used to have to throttle over.

And you're not gonna get any hate from me on the china snorkel, will probably be the route I go. Glad to know it works well.

Its been awhile. Heres a little updated picture of my 80. I lifted it 1", extended all the breathers, sealed all the ignition components as best as I can. Spartan rear locker, CDL switch/Pin 7 mod. CB, removed bent running boards, Snorkel, some extra lighting and some 285's. I plan on getting some sliders sometime in the next few months and some other tidbits here and there.

Looks good and battle ready! I remember when you popped her cherry out at Tahuya and mangled the running boards when she was bone stock. She's looking stout- I'm digging the Chinese snorkel too.

You know it Mike! Its getting to where I want it but plans will be on hold since I am trying to finish up my GS300 track car for this upcoming race season in March.

I mangled the driver side even worst on the south loop of Tahuya. Then I went to Evans Creek with some friends and slipped off a rock and then there was no longer a passenger side running board. Haha.

You have to show me how you mounted that winch sometime! :)

Not a problem, just let me know you're ready pull the trigger.

I used a HF universal mount plate and took my grinder and sawzall to it, so it would fit between the rails. From there you just drill holes for bolts to the frame (or weld half of it like we did). Pretty easy.

Oh yeah, you do need to reclock the winch so the lever doesn't hit the condenser, but that's a 10 minute job. From there you just run wire, unless you do a divorced solenoid box like I did, which involves a bit more work.

Honestly though, I'm a chimp when it comes to fabrication so you shouldn't have any worries.

Let me know and I'll be happy to lend a hand.

<hijack off>

I see mention of a GS300..... curious to the build info if you're willing to share.

And, like your rig, I jacked up my right side runner board on Naches. I left mine on for "I ain't afraid of damaging this rig or yours" effect.

Nice rig BTW!

I will let you know here in the next few months!

Thanks for the kind words!

That was the first part of the build I posted awhile back. I just got the car last August. I traded my scooter for it. :D

Since that was posted I have gotten it running and tuned and it starts up perfect from a dead cold start. It also has a Sparco bucket seat, harnesses and a few more interior stuff now.

Soon I will be getting/making some aero parts for it since they don't really make rear diffusers and what not for it. Yay for building it in my garage. Lol.

Sweet mother Mary.... you do realize that a 61mm turbo would not be considered undersized for a Peterbilt powerplant, right B-)

That will be one scary ride once she starts making positive pressure! Definite sleeper...

Nice find, I love that series of the Aristo too! What type of racing?!

That's some serious spool going on, might as well go for the whole bang and go for a compound setup! :D

Thanks for sharing too. I love Land Cruisers but old JNC's is where I reside.

Circuit racing, it has been far too long. I need to get back into it. Turbo is too big to spool for anything other than that and freeway pulls. I don't get into boost until 4k rpms, but when I do, I have no traction at all.. It has turbo lag for days. Although I was debating on turboing the 80 but decided against it and just decided to save up for body armor!

Sweet man, looking forward to the progress on your car. I would love to turbo my 80, only I've been sorting through other projects and family stuff but I digress.

Went up to Copper Creek yesterday with like 15 other trucks. It was quite fun. The top was very challenging though!

My friend got stuck in some deep snow. Couldnt get around him and it was too deep to do a u turn in fear of getting stuck myself so I had to pull him in reverse. I know I know it isnt good but whatevs. lol.

One more of me pulling my friend out lol. He slid into some trees. He did pull me out 3 times this trip though. Pathfinders amaze me.

Nice cruiser but I have to ask.....what camera do you use and what lens

Thanks! Some of the pictures are from my Canon 1d MKiii with either a 50 F1.4 or an 85 F1.8. Others are from my friends Nikon D700 with a 70-200 F2.8is or his 50 F1.4. :)

Awesome setups!

Got a new rack on. One step closer to how I want it to look and function!

Here is a little update for my 80. Preparing it for an overland trip here in the next few months. Pretty excited for that!

So, two weekends ago on an exploration trip. I kind of ripped my fender flares off, broke a mount for my top light bar, and broke a few other tid bits. I am now in the process of filling the holes from the flares and repainting. I also don't have a rear bumper at the moment because my friend and I are in the process of making one. If you see me around Tacoma/Seattle, wave! haha.
