Heyo. I have a 1975 FJ40 and a 2011 200 series. My boyfriend and I built out a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van. My summer daily is a ‘06 BMW Z4. I quite enjoy driving.
The FJ is mostly original, the previous owner was a tinkerer so it has a bajillion lights/attachments I plan on removing. I just had the front brakes converted to disc by Resurrection Cruisers in Orchard City. Other then maybe replacing the roof, I’m going to try to maintain it as it is. I am absolute love with this machine. I actually bought the 200 series to tow it and keep the highway miles off it. It’s currently has around 50k.
The 2011 has never been off-road until now. We took it up this week for it’s first time and scratched the hell out of it. This feels like a forever vehicle for me so I want to build it right. One of my long time dreams is to race in Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles and this seems like the right machine to do it.
Looking forward to learning here!
