Good point! A few bouncers are running these in custom, lightened housings: meritor. Might need a bit of fabrication though. Definitely won't break a 7 ton axle.

Just a cool video, regardless

A couple weeks ago we took a weekend to hit a bunch of trails we have never been on, in and around Moab Utah. We used our beater FZJ80 land Cruiser and when it decided to die, we used the 2018 Ram on the other trails we wanted to go check out.

Our First adventure started here.....

Kane Creek was not an easy trail and I was not prepared for the obstacles on it. Nevertheless, we had a blast....Part 1 see if we make it through unscathed in Part 2. Coming soon. Don't try this on 32" tires, you will get some body damage. I'd say 35" tall tires and lockers are a minimum. Too bad I was on 32" tires.

Finally got done with Part 2 of Kanes Creek. We Finally Escape the trail at 10:30pm that night. 5 1/2 hours to go the distance on this one! Fun yet terrifying.

Doing some body work.

All done. Yeah. I used bedliner. It’s a trail rig. At least it matching the original color.

no more dents or rusty spots.

Last weekend I was able to knock out fixing up the body work and finally got the Land Bruiser looking respectable. I mean it is a Toyota, so as good as it can be. LOL. At least it doesn't look like it just returned from war anymore.

This is what I’ve been up to this week.

Rebuilt the front axle. New CV shafts. Upgraded to 30 spline outers. What a mess. Took me 12 hours in total because everything was such A mess. Almost used a full box of 200 shop rags.

also replaced all the tie rod ends. Steering is nice and tight now. Feels great.

Eli and I went up Saturday to play with the Land Cruiser and to test out its new shoes. Old Ward Canyon is a great quick trip with some fun obstacles.

Well, that was gross, and it took way too long. Luckily my business partner and I installed a lift at the shop. And I was able to do this nasty job a bit faster on the lift. #importmotorwerx

Finally got the front end reassembled. It wasn't too bad once everything was cleaned up. The pressure washer made quick work of the messy components

Um...There was NO grease in that knuckle when taking it apart. WTF?

And no torque wrench on putting the wheel bearings back in?
