I sold my 2008 jeep wrangler 4 door, so I was looking for me a new car that I wouldn't have to make any payments on. Something under 5k. Went to watch my oldest son's band play one night and when we came outside after the show there it sat. A 1988 Toyota Landcruiser FJ62. It was love at first sight. Blue and gray with a 2" OME lift. Was suprized that the power windows, door locks, mirrors and antenna still worked. Not perfect, but awesome looking. I've had it for about three weeks now, and put some 15x8 black d-window wheels with 33x12.50R15 Mastercraft mud terrains. After putting wheel, tires and a new muffler I'm still under 5k. Got a lot more things I want to do, just have to wait on the money.

Nice looking cruiser. We all wait on money. MIke

Nice FJ62. Love the two-tone!

Welcome to MUD :flipoff2: <---- Official IH8MUD Welcome

Nice looking 62. I'd suggest you give it an aux. ATF cooler if it doesn't have one already. The taller tires are going to make the tranny run a bit hotter.

I'm still under 5k.

For now...:D

my only advice is to stay away from this site! just kidding...There are so many cool mods you can do it can add up fast. First and foremost is baselining it!!!

The funny thing to me is the best money i have spent on mods (besides OME lift, front/rear bumpers, wheels/tires :flipoff2:) is the $35 I spent on replacing my worn rear hatch struts and the sub $5 to install the "left light on buzzer".

Welcome to the club!

The rear struts will be replaced within the next few weeks. Already found the back glass with my head a few times. I want to build some rock sliders and bumpers. Seen some good ideas on the site. This is my dd and I 'm loving it. My oldest son wants it already. Saw a white one beside a house with weeds around it. Going to have to stop and see if we can rescue it for him.I'm open to any and all suggestions about the landcruiser.

Welcome,
Don't know where you are in N. Georgia I'm in Calhoun. Go to the clubhouse page and take a look at the "Georgia Cruisers" were a statewide LandCruiser Club. We
also have a website Gacruisers.com hopefully we'll meet you soon.

Nice rig! I think I saw it on craigslist, glad its going to someone who will treat it right.
If you ever need a good shop or want to see some cruiser "porn" the guys at
ACC Toyota Truck & Land Cruiser
are great.
Being in North GA doesn't hurt either:cool:

where in N GA are you? I'm in Atlanta but take it up to the hills as often as possible!

Nice 62. This site has so much info, help, hints & tricks with a lot of helpful, friendly people.
I'm in Ga. too, Watkinsville, near Athens.

Love the color combo..heh heh!

I did the same thing about four years ago. Sold my Jeep and bought a Cruiser just like yours. Had 254xxx miles on it, so I was concerned about how reliable it might be. I don't put a lot of miles on it, but I've driven it nearly every day and its never once failed me. Thats far better reliability that the Jeep which had just a little over 100xxx on it. Of course, gas mileage sucks, so hope you don't have a big commute. Its the most comfortable, fun ride I've ever had.
