I just recently acquired a '71 FJ40 and am slowly digging into learn and repair. But first, I have to figure out what stuff is. Can someone please tell me what these are in these 2 pics. One is a canister mounted on the driver side fender in the engine bay and looks to have a vacuum connection on it.

The other is a bracket of some sort in the engine bay down low on the passenger side. It looks like it should be holding something - what would it be?

Thanks - Farrell

Second picture is a bracket used for the OEM fuel filter. The round piece is what held a aftermarket fuel filter. Some 71 had emissions like the 72 models. First picture is poor but might be a vacuum switch for those emissions.
