Hey everyone! I've been a long-term-lurker and have finally joined the 100 club and picked up a 1999 LX470. I have a long list of maintenance and mods, and cannot wait to hit the Alpine Loop this year, but am very close to pulling the trigger on wheels and tires.

I have obsessively read hundreds of awesome posts on the topic, but I am down to a very specific question. I have been going back and forth between (i) Method 308 in 17x8.5 with a 35mm Offset (703 | Matte Black - https://www.methodracewheels.com/products/703-matte-black?_pos=1&_sid=81ae0d969&_ss=r&variant=31922241863741) and wrapped in 285/70/17 KO2s, and (ii) Method 308 Roost in 18x9 with 18mm Offset (308 | Roost | Matte Black - https://www.methodracewheels.com/products/roost-matte-black?variant=1077215221) and wrapped in 275/70/18 KO2s. I would love some input from the forum!

I understand that the 17" set up, particularly with the 35 Offset, would be a very easy and no-rub fit, and there are a few members running this 18" set up, but I wanted to confirm that nothing has changed and I've not missed any updates where this 18" setup would cause issues. I see that the 308s with the 33" KO2s tuck nicely when on the trail flexing, but my main concern is that I want to make sure I don't destroy a fender when I bottom out driving on paved roads (i25 is terrible), especially given that my truck will be stock for at least another month! I'm leaning toward the look of the 18"s but am a little concerned given that I've read that 20mm Offset is the minimum we should be going on a stock set up.

Any input, both in terms of fitment and personal preference on the aesthetics of the 17vs18 and the 703 Methods vs the 308s, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
