I just got my batteries replaced from canadian tire for free.... Of course I hadn't even had them on the truck for 2 years yet... I'm thinking it would be a good idea to rig up a load balancer... What's a good cheap way to go.... I know there was a thread with a diagram on how to wire it up also... can't seem to find it...

thanks for any help

Eric,
I'm not familiar with them, looked at that option one or two years ago.
As far as I can recall I then found more options....
But certainly there are more options available.

Doing a quick search now I found:
1,
2, and
3.

Don't know nothing about these companies, just linking.

The first problem is the crappy tire batteries. Do you use a converter right now?

I realize crappy tire batteries are definitaly not the cream of the crop, but that being said they have a 3 year free replacement, which I still have 1.3 yrs left (and i'm already on my 2nd set) and they are prorated for 9 years, which gives you good discounts if they need replacing in the 9 year period.... Although I'm not someone that thinks batteries should ever need replacing 3 years from buying them.... My truck is a CDN spec with the evil headlight tap... I do run a converter right now, that just taps off 24v power, and it powers my deck and cig lighter...

If they continue to hand over batteries no questions asked, i'd most likily go there again... after all I did leave my headlights on which to me with the 12v tap, is probably the hardest thing you could ever do to a 24v system... no wonder they were pooched.... I didn't have a bit of trouble with them before that, but that being said they were pretty much new

Most of the crappy tire batteries are just rebaged exide batteries anyway, but if it's anything like the crappy tire specific goodyears... I honestly think they do make them extra special s***ty... Same deal goes for crappy tire dewalt tools and home depot John deere mowers.... I don't know why companies keep making crap for these big box stores, it's just hurting there name IMO

that's what I was hoping to hear :)

cheers John.... I know I had a motomaster battery I took out of a corolla I wrecked that looked old when I bought the car... I put it in my sentra, and just sold it.... all the stickers were off it and it was OLD.... still started no problem....

Incorrect. I've been using CdnTire batteries for about 30 years in a variety of vehicles. They give excellent service and good value. By comparison the overrated, overpriced Optimas that came with my LC lasted one winter.

Well then you are very lucky, or you don't demand a whole lot from your batteries. I used to use them as well but I switched and so far I've gotten 4 years and counting. And that's after running them dead more then a few times and lots of winching. And they aren't optimas by the way. Just regular batteries from Battery World. Most people who know anything about batteries would not recomend CT.

ALOT of batteries are made by the same manufacturer as the CT ones... Exide makes tons of batteries for different retailers.... The only benifit to CT that I see is you can pretty much get your warrenty honered anywhere in Canada, and it also includes free jump starts and/or tows if you keep your warrenty paper with you..

That's pretty funny. Where I live it gets to sub zero F temperatures regularly, that's what killed the Optimas. Those cold temperatures sort the good batteries from the high priced posers.

Maybe you should just stick to what you know about the batteries you use and keep you opinions of what others do to yourself. It only makes you look foolish.

I'm not arguing the fact that they have an excellent warrenty. There is definately a value to that.

I wasn't offering any info to you in the first place. I gave info based on my own personal experience. You are the one who looks foolish. You very rarely have anything to add to a thread exept criticism and/or personal attacks. You need to spend more time wheeling and less trolling. It's people like you that keep many others from participating in forums like this.
