New ARB BASE roof rack

I don’t plan to use my sunroof much, so I opted for the 84” Base Rack. Took a bunch of little tweaks to get it mounted just right. Only thing I don’t like is the proximity of the gutter clamp to the front doors. It’s a tight fit...if you don’t get it secured just right, you may not be able to open your doors. Not sure why I didn’t receive a wind defector with mine? I contacted ARB Customer service and awaiting their response. Part number is ARB BASE81.

Looks good. I didn’t get a wind deflector with mine either. Called ARB’s superb customer service and they shipped one right out. I see you got the roller attachment accessory for the rear of the rack—nice.

Just saw this—I’m up in the mountains for a few days and can send pics of the manual with all torque specs when I get back. Just don’t do what I did and try to use loctite torqued to the settings in the manual. Or at least be aware of the difference between wet and dry torque settings.

Here you go. It's exactly 4 7/8" from the bottom of the gutter to the bottom lowest point on the rack. It's about 1 1/8" from the highest point on the sheet metal of the roof to the bottom lowest point on the rack. The pictures don't exactly show those measurements because of the interplay of optics / angles and such, but you get the idea.

Yes that's more or less correct. It's exactly 6 1/4" from bottom of the gutter to the highest point on the rack--I took this measurement at several points along the gutter. Note, toward the front gutter portion though on an 80 series where the gutter tapers downward toward the front of the vehicle, that 6 1/4" number naturally goes up because the gutter tapers downward for drainage (down and away from the rack) while the top elevation of the rack remains constant.

Reviving old thread for information. I’ve got a base81 installed on my 93 LC. Wondering what the wind deflector side holes attach to? I don’t see anything on either edge to attach to? Tia.

Here's some pics for how it attaches. Per ARB mine is a Universal Wind Deflector for the ARB Base Rack. You should have this bracket and hardware that attaches the Base Rack to the outer edges of the wind deflector. My rack is also BASE81 part#.
